Retained Firefighters Wanted
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service are looking for new Retained Firefighters across the county
Many of their retained fire stations are now recruiting new retained firefighters this month. Retained firefighters often have another job and they will provide on-call cover from home or their place of work. They respond to emergencies when their pager alerts them, so must live or work within five minutes travel time from the station.
Firefighters must be 18 years of age when they join, but this should not dissuade 17-year-olds from registering their interest and they should have permission from their current employer and maintain a reasonable standard of fitness.
The stations currently looking to recruit new firefighters include Bacup, Rawtenstall and Haslingden.
Being a retained firefighter is not a job to be taken lightly, however it does provide you with a real sense of achievement and value. It also provides a wide range of benefits.
