Young Carers at BPRCVS is delivered for, with and all about carers under the age of 18. They have a tough job and they need and deserve everybody’s help and support!
The organisation was established in 2000 as a project within Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Services. Initially funded by Lancashire County Council, the project has developed and is now funded by BBC Children In Need, The Henry Smith Charity and also receives financial support from local businesses such as Hillendale Land Rover in Nelson.
The project covers Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. It only supports people with a mental health problem and/or a substance misuse problem in these areas. Our project specialises in long-term support to young carers aged 8-18.
Following a referral to our service and an initial assessment, our carers are offered at least three one to one sessions with one of our Young Carers Development Workers.
