Whitworth Valley Angling Society was established in 1973 and has six still waters set in beautiful countryside around Rochdale. These are located at….
- Lane Head on Rooley Moor
- Broadley Wood in Healey Dell
- Birch Hill in Wardle
- Dury Lane in Shawforth
- Broadgate Pond in Chadderton
We also have a short stretch of the River Roche near Bridgefield Street, Rochdale.
The club offers fishing opportunities suitable for children and the disabled, with wheelchair access at two ponds – Lane Head and Broadley Wood.
The Society are members of the Angling Trust and Fish Legal. This means that we are represented by a powerful legal team (free of charge) should we suffer any pollution, loss of access, fish deaths and other legal issues. We also benefit from a comprehensive insurance package for liability against our society, our members and protecting our assets.
