Return to list of services

Information on this page was last updated on 28/08/2018

The Rossendale Talking Newspaper Association has 7 teams who read the local paper, the Rossendale Free Press, on rota each week, recording onto memory which we then send out each week to visually impaired people who want to have this service, via 5 small teams that make up the distribution team.

The group bring local news and events, read by local volunteers, to anyone who is blind, partially sighted & other people who would benefit from their recordings.  An annual ‘get together’ is organised so that reading teams and recipients can meet.

The Rossendale Talking Newspaper teams operate out of the Village Centre in Crawshawbooth.  Volunteers use the Library as their base each week to make their recordings.
