Longholme Methodist Church is a community of people of all ages who seek to respond to God’s love by sharing the good news of Jesus. We believe we should worship God, care for one another, and our neighbours and help each other to grow in faith.

The church is concerned, and compassionate towards it’s many valued older members, and is at the same time, a child-friendly church which enjoys it’s younger people, and would love to have more of them coming along.

The spiritual element is high on the agenda of everything we do – indeed, it is the reason for everything we do , as we seek to serve and worship Christ together, and reach out to draw people in to the wonder of response to the gospel.

Our main worship services are on Sunday mornings, when we attract a congregation of around 80 – 90 people in the main church, which is on the first floor of the building (with a lift for those who need it). We have a small choir, and enjoy having the words of our hymns (and other things) projected onto a screen.

We have a special place for parents, and toddlers to sit so that the little ones can have a small space in which to play. The Sunday school consists of Primary, Junior and Young People’s classes, and is held every week except for the monthly All Age Worship Services, when the children and young people stay in for the whole service rather than going downstairs after hymns, prayers and the children’s address.

After the service, we enjoy a time of fellowship as we can sit down for a coffee, tea and biscuits in the large School Room situated on the ground floor to the front of the other Sunday School rooms. So, as you can see from our activities, there is much going on at Longholme Methodist Church to sustain, and nurture the congregation, and the local community.
