Higher Cockham Farm is run by Perpetual Care – a specialist mental health service which delivers treatment and rehabilitation to vulnerable adults presenting a range of risks and complex needs.  This is achieved through clinically governed practice in a therapeutic environment using evidence based techniques and outcomes measurements tools.

Perpetual Care has three mental health units for Adults aged 18+ who suffer from various forms of mental illness and can accommodate people of mixed sex. Based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, all our homes provide 24 hour staffing and have a focus on independence and rehabilitation.

The services we offer are entirely dependent on the individual with care plans tailored to ensure they meet each person’s specific requirements.

Perpetual Care work towards the Recovery Star Approach, ensuring that staff work to values and principles which support recovery and understanding that each Service User has a right to build a meaningful life for themselves, with or without the continuing presence of mental health symptoms.

The size of the units means that comfortable, homely surroundings are achieved and all have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. This environment allows residents to have a certain level of privacy and enables new residents to settle in quickly. All our homes have a number of sitting rooms, activity rooms and communal kitchens and dining rooms. Each resident has their own individual bedroom, which is fully equipped with bedding and furniture, although residents are welcome to bring their own furnishings if they wish and they are encouraged to personalise their rooms as much as possible. At Morden Grange the bedrooms are en-suite or have access to their own wetroom.

During the day Perpetual Care has sufficient staff numbers to allow residents to participate in chosen activities and are offered one-to-one time. All our staff are highly motivated, well trained and most have been with the Organisation since it was established. They are used to dealing with both residents’ families and professionals to ensure the welfare and needs of the resident are met.
