The Friends of Acre Village have been awarded a grant from the Heritage Lottery for their Interpreting Acre Project.   The group are working with Proffitts, Lancashire County Council and Rossendale Borough Council with the aim of obtaining funding to preserve, restore and interpret the history of this interesting Victorian Village.

The group  are going to be holding various events over the year and hope you might like to get involved in some way.  They are also looking for people to volunteer to help the project in a variety of ways as over the next year they will be researching and recording aspects of Acre’s history,  designing a  heritage based logo for Acre and creating a heritage walking trail around the village.

If you would like information, have photos or memorabilia you would like to share with the project, or would like to get involved as a volunteer, please get in touch.
