Advocacy Focus provide advocacy support to people over the age of 18 who live in East Lancashire and have an issue with Health or Adult Social Care.

Advocates support people at meetings in getting their views across to professionals and help people to understand what is being said to them. Advocates work in a non judgemental way and our work is confidential.

We provide issue specific one to one advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy for people detained under the Mental Health Act (IMHA), advocacy for people who lack capacity (IMCA), advocacy for people who are unable to instruct advocacy for young people with a learning disability who are in Transition. People can self refer or third party referrals with the persons consent. Referrals can be made by telephone.
