We are a Community Group set up to help re-develop the Childrens’ Play and Park recreational areas in the local Park popularly known as “Snig Hole”. The Group represents the residents and community of the village of Helmshore in the Borough of Rossendale, Lancashire.

Snig Hole Park  (officially called Helmshore Memorial Park)  consists of  an area of formal grounds with mature trees, bushes and shrubs and a feature Clock tower which carries the War Memorial plaque for the village.

This area of the park has had some work done in earlier years and is a pleasant area to walk. There are further improvements that can be made but this will be undertaken in a subsequent phase of the Project.

The other section of the Park consists of a children’s play area and football pitch and it is this area which is the primary focus of our attention.
